SOPFIM’s Board of Directors consists of 13 members who are elected by the outfit’s member organizations. Five of these members represent the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife and eight of them represent the forest industry. The board members representing the industry are determined on the basis of the volumes allocated to companies under their respective timber supply agreements. The ministry’s representatives can hail from a range of sectors, including the municipal, wildlife, forestry and other sectors. The mission of the board of directors is to vote on the required budgets and to adopt a position concerning the strategic directions to be given to the protection of forests from pest epidemics. From among its members, the Board also appoints an executive committee consisting of the Chair, Vice-chair and three other board members.
